Two Compact Three-Phase Multilevel Inverters for Low-Voltage Applications

Hadi Aghaei et al.

Summary: This article proposes two compact three-phase multilevel inverter topologies, one of which is a simplified version of conventional topologies by reducing two switches, and the other replaces one of the DC sources with a capacitor. The application of two modulation methods and the calculation of capacitor values for each method have been studied, and experimental results are provided to validate the performance of the proposed topologies.

Single source self-balanced switched-capacitor multilevel inverter with reduced number of semiconductors

Mohammad Amani et al.

Summary: This article presents a novel single-source high step-up multi-level inverter topology to improve some drawbacks of switched-capacitor converters and reduce the number of elements. This proposed inverter can be used with a low voltage DC source and has potential applications in renewable energy systems. It can also generate negative levels in the output voltage without requiring a high-voltage full-bridge inverter, reducing the number of components needed.

Design and analysis of a speed controller for fractional-order-modeled voltage-source-inverter-fed induction motor drive

Sudheer Adigintla et al.

Summary: This paper presents a method to improve the closed-loop speed control performance of variable speed drives by using fractional-order model and PWM signal injection technique. The obtained fractional-order model is used in constructing the closed-loop speed control system, which shows better speed tracking capability and requires less control input compared to the integer-order model under load disturbances.

Three-Phase Step-Up Multilevel Inverter With Self-Balanced Switched-Capacitor

Yuanmao Ye et al.

Summary: This article presents a new three-phase multilevel inverter with boosting capability for low-voltage applications like electric vehicles and renewable energy sources. The inverter operates with phase-disposition pulsewidth modulation, allowing the high- and low-voltage transistors to operate at low and high switching frequencies respectively. By connecting capacitors in parallel and series alternately with the dc source, the inverter achieves high ac output voltage, self-balanced capacitor voltages, and low voltage ripples.
