Positioning accuracy degradation and lifetime prediction of the ball screw considering time-varying working conditions and feed modes

Qiang Cheng et al.

Summary: The study developed an exponential prediction model for the positioning accuracy of BSM based on time-varying working conditions, using a macro-micro multiscale method. The microscopic wear process and positioning accuracy retention were investigated, and tests were conducted to determine the characteristics of BSM positioning accuracy under normal feed mode. The exponential wear model was used to describe wear status and predict accuracy loss values and positioning accuracy lifetime.

Direct position determination with phase error compensation for multiple targets using spatial sparsity

Min Wu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a phase error compensation algorithm for the SDPD algorithm based on mobile APs, which makes two key technical contributions: designing a double iteration for l(2,1)-norm optimization to compensate phase errors and recover target distribution maps simultaneously, and integrating global information of target distribution maps at different APs to improve measurement accuracy when data collection is incomplete or irregular. Experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the algorithm.

A modeling method for predicting the precision loss of the preload double-nut ball screw induced by raceway wear based on fractal theory

Jiajia Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new method to characterize the rough spherical morphology of raceways for ball screws based on fractal theory, identifying the fractal parameters of the screw and nut raceways and establishing a fractal contact model of the raceway surface. Discussions include the contact coefficient of the inner and outer raceways, the influence of raceway fractal parameters on wear rate, and coupling research on precision loss and preload degradation for the ball screw.

Accuracy analysis and error compensation for Tricept machine tool under load

Jianzhong Ding et al.

Summary: This paper presents an efficient way to estimate the accuracy performance of the Tricept machine tool under load by considering joint clearances and link flexibility. The kinetostatic model for accuracy analysis is obtained by balancing the load and elastic forces provided by limbs. Additionally, an error compensation method for the Tricept machine tool under load is proposed and validated in a study case.

On-position Measurement Method for Position-error Compensation in Machining

Wenhui Zeng et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an on-position measurement method for position error compensation based on the combination datum theory, which involves constructing mathematical models and adjusting the position of the machine spindle to compensate for the coaxiality error of the parts. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method for position error compensation based on the on-position measurement device.
