The evolution of intracranial aneurysm treatment techniques and future directions

Keng Siang Lee et al.

Summary: Treatment techniques for intracranial aneurysms have evolved rapidly, with a shift towards a combination of surgical and endovascular methods for complex cases. Decision-making should take into account patient factors and aneurysm characteristics, guided by current evidence and future technology advancements.

Implementation of computer simulation to assess flow diversion treatment outcomes: systematic review and meta-analysis

Mingzi Zhang et al.

Summary: Despite a decade of research into virtual stent deployment and post-stenting aneurysmal hemodynamics, conclusive hemodynamic factors for successful treatment remain uncertain. Differences in aneurysmal inflow rate and energy loss were significantly associated with treatment success, while other parameters showed no significant differences. Compacting a single stent could achieve a comparable additional flow diversion to dual-stent implantation.

Numerical simulation of time-resolved 3D phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging

Summary: A numerical approach for simulating time-resolved 3D phase-contrast MRI under realistic flow conditions is presented. The Navier-Stokes and Bloch equations are solved with specific strategies to reduce computational cost. The simulated results compare favorably with experimental data.
