Locating and sizing tumor nodules in human prostate using instrumented probing - computational framework and experimental validation

Antonio Candito et al.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of using mechanical data to detect prostate cancer nodules and develops a computational method to quantify the detectability of these nodules. The method shows promising levels of sensitivity and specificity in both experimental and theoretical evaluations. It could be a useful complementary tool to existing diagnostic methods of prostate cancer.

Dimensional study of prostate cancer using stereological tools

Luis Santamaria et al.

Summary: This study applied stereology to analyze the dimensional changes of prostate cancer glands and found that carcinoma significantly affects the acinar epithelial cell length density, the ratio of epithelial volume in acini, and acinar length density.

Mapping prostatic microscopic anisotropy using linear and spherical b-tensor encoding: A preliminary study

Markus Nilsson et al.

Summary: The study assessed the potential of tensor-valued diffusion encoding in prostate cancer imaging, revealing different image contrasts and lower diffusivity in cancers compared to healthy tissues. Differences were also observed between PZ and TZ tissues. No significant variations were found between cancers of different Gleason scores, possibly due to the limited sample size.
