A Fe65Ni15Cr10Co10 medium entropy alloy (MEA) with a heterogeneous microstructure was produced using cold rolling and low temperature annealing. The cold rolled and low temperature annealed specimen exhibited abnormally high yield strength and ductility at -196 degrees C compared to the cold rolled specimen. This phenomenon is mainly attributed to the synergy of hetero-deformation induced (HDI) strengthening, boundary strengthening, and transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) effect.
Using cold rolling and low temperature annealing, a Fe65Ni15Cr10Co10 medium entropy alloy (MEA) with a heterogeneous microstructure was presented. The cold rolled and low temperature annealed specimen display an abnormally ultrahigh yield strength and ductility at-196 degrees C, compared to the cold rolled specimen. The un-derlying mechanism are mainly attributed to a synergy of hetero-deformation induced (HDI) strengthening, boundary strengthening and transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) effect.
