Temperature-Induced Structural Transformations of Lanthanide Coordination Polymers Based on a Semirigid Tricarboxylic Acid Ligand: Crystal Structures and Luminescence Properties

Mei-Yu Xu et al.

Summary: Three novel types of lanthanide coordination polymers were successfully synthesized via a hydrothermal method. The 1D chain and 3D Ln-MOFs can transform into a more stable 0D cage structure through temperature-induced ligand's configuration transformation. The materials were characterized using various analytical techniques, and it was found that the 3D Eu-MOFs exhibit good sensitivity and selectivity towards Fe3+ ions in methanol solutions.

Tuning the structure and magnetic properties via distinct pyridine derivatives in cobalt(II) coordination polymers

Dong Shao et al.

Summary: The precise modulation of the structure and magnetic properties of coordination compounds is crucial for the development of framework magnetic materials. In this study, the coordination self-assembly of a neutral cobalt(s) magnetic building block and selective organic linkers resulted in two distinct cobalt(s) coordination polymers with different magnetic anisotropy behaviors. The theoretical calculations supported the experimental results and provided insights into the magnetic exchange interaction and D values of the coordination polymers.

Field-induced slow magnetic relaxation behaviours in binuclear cobalt(II) metallocycles and exchange-coupled clusters

Dong Shao et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of two distinct dicobalt(II) complexes through ligand-directed coordination self-assembly, and reveals their magnetic properties and magnetic anisotropy through structural analysis and magnetic studies. The results highlight the design and preparation of coordination solids with specific structures and magnetic properties through the judicious selection of molecular complex building blocks and organic linkers.

Solid-State Conformational Flexibility at Work: Energetic Landscape of a Single Crystal-to-Single Crystal Transformation in a Cyclic Hexapeptoid

Giovanni Pierri et al.

Summary: The study reveals a reversible single crystal-to-single crystal transformation in a cyclic hexapeptoid upon heating, resulting in significant side-chain movement and conformational changes with the formation of unique CH-pi bonds. Upon acetonitrile adsorption, the changes are reversed back to the original structure.

Strong Coupling and Slow Relaxation of the Magnetization for an Air-Stable [Co4] Square with Both Tetrazine Radicals and Azido Bridges

Zhilin Guo et al.

Summary: Introducing both tetrazine radical and azido bridges afforded two air-stable square complexes where magnetic studies revealed strong antiferromagnetic metal-radical interaction with a coupling constant of -64.7 cm(-1) in the 2J formalism in 2. Remarkably, complex 2 exhibits slow relaxation of magnetization with an effective barrier for spin reverse of 96 K at zero applied field.
