Fully Delocalized Mixed-Valent Cu1.5Cu1.5 Complex: Strong Cu-Cu interaction and Fast Electron Self-Exchange Rate Despite Large Structural Changes

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: This article describes a flexible macrocyclic ligand that can host two Cu ions in reversibly interconvertible states. The complexes were characterized using various spectroscopic methods and calculations. The electron self-exchange between the two states is rapid despite structural reorganization and is proposed to proceed via an active conformer. This redox couple is unique and achieves fast electron self-exchange similar to the function of the Cu-A site.

Nucleophilic Reactivity at a =CH Arm of a Lutidine-Based CNC/Rh System: Unusual Alkyne and CO2 Activation

Pablo Hermosilla et al.

Summary: The reaction of an amido pincer complex with carbon dioxide resulted in a neutral complex, which then underwent a coupling reaction with primary amines to form cationic complexes. The study revealed a novel reactivity trend in alkyne activation, showing a metal-ligand cooperative mechanism involving electrophilic attack and proton rearrangement.

Rh Complexes with Pincer Carbene CNC Lutidine-Based Ligands: Reactivity Studies toward H2 Addition

Pablo Hermosilla et al.

Summary: New complexes were synthesized by reacting lutidine-based NHCs with [Rh(acac)(nbd)] under the presence of Cs2CO3, leading to the formation of a variety of cationic and neutral complexes. These complexes were characterized by VT NMR measurements and X-ray crystallography, with reactivity studies towards hydrogenation revealing different mechanisms based on the ligands involved.
