Agile software development one year into the COVID-19 pandemic

Pernilla Agren et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on agile software development and practitioners. The results show that remote work has significantly affected communication and social interactions in ASD, while technical work aspects have remained relatively unchanged. The involuntary shift to remote work has a significant impact on various aspects of ASD, with productivity and communication being particularly affected. The lack of social interaction and the shift to digital communication have primarily influenced practitioners' employment of agile development and ways of working.
