Chamber study on the migration of di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) between source surfaces and settled dust: Influence of temperature and dust loading

Ao Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the migration pathways of di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) in indoor environments were investigated. The results showed that direct contact with source surfaces enhanced the sorption of DNOP in dust, while temperature had little influence. These findings are important for reducing human exposure to phthalates in indoor environments.

Indoor exposure to phthalates and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) to Canadian children: the Kingston allergy birth cohort

Yuchao Wan et al.

Summary: This study characterized concentrations of eight phthalates and 12 PAHs in floor dust from the bedrooms of 79 children. Some phthalates were associated with product and material use, while some PAHs were associated with household characteristics. No significant increases in risk of atopy was found based on phthalate or PAH dust concentrations.

The gas/particle partitioning behavior of phthalate esters in indoor environment: Effects of temperature and humidity

Xiaojun Zhou et al.

Summary: The study examined the effects of indoor environmental parameters, such as temperature and humidity, on the partitioning behavior of phthalate esters between gas and particles. It was found that temperature had a significant impact on the gas/particle partition coefficient (K-p) with an exponential decay law observed between K-p and absolute temperature. In contrast, humidity had a smaller effect on K-p compared to temperature, and no obvious law was identified.

Early life exposure to phthalates and the development of childhood asthma among Canadian children

Garthika Navaranjan et al.

Summary: The study found an association between DEHP exposure in the first year of life and increased risks of asthma and recurrent wheezing among children at 5 years. These findings suggest the need to assess whether more stringent regulations are required to protect children's health, which can be informed by future work exploring the main sources of DEHP exposure.

Settlement?adhesion evolution mechanism of dust particles in the flow field of photovoltaic mirrors at night

Xueqing Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the particle settlement-adhesion evolution mechanism in the flow field of photovoltaic mirrors at night using computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method. The effects of various factors on particle settlement-adhesion laws were discussed. The research results provide important theoretical guidance for the removal of dust particles from photovoltaic mirrors.
