Inhibition of SLC7A11-GPX4 signal pathway is involved in aconitine-induced ferroptosis in vivo and in vitro

Qiuju Li et al.

Summary: This study aims to explore the effects and molecular mechanism of ferroptosis caused by aconitine. Through experiments, it was found that aconitine can induce ferroptosis by inhibiting the SLC7A11/GPX4 signal pathway, resulting in lipid peroxidation damage and iron overload. The results of this study are of great significance for understanding the neurotoxic effects of aconitine.

MiR-378a-3p/SLC7A11 regulate ferroptosis in nerve injury induced by lead exposure

Weixuan Wang et al.

Summary: An increasing number of studies have indicated that ferroptosis plays a crucial role in neurodegenerative diseases, but its involvement in nerve injury caused by lead exposure is still unclear. This study treated cells and mice with lead acetate and found that lead exposure induced ferroptosis. Moreover, miR-378a-3p and its regulation of SLC7A11 were investigated in this process.

The effects of acrylamide-mediated dorsal root ganglion neurons injury on ferroptosis

Shuai An et al.

Summary: This study found that acrylamide inhibits the proliferation, migration, and repair of dorsal root ganglia (DRG) neurons by regulating ferroptosis. However, the use of the ferroptosis inhibitor Fer-1 can reverse these effects and increase the expression of neurotrophic factors. This provides a promising therapeutic strategy for future treatment of acrylamide-induced nerve damage.

Loss of m6A demethylase ALKBH5 promotes post-ischemic angiogenesis via post-transcriptional stabilization of WNT5A

Yongchao Zhao et al.

Summary: The study revealed that ALKBH5 acts as a negative regulator in post-ischemic angiogenesis, modulating WNT5A mRNA stability in an m6A-dependent manner. Targeting ALKBH5 may be a potential therapeutic option for ischemic diseases.

EGR2-mediated regulation of m6A reader IGF2BP proteins drive RCC tumorigenesis and metastasis via enhancing S1PR3 mRNA stabilization

Yufan Ying et al.

Summary: In renal cell cancer, IGF2BPs regulate the expression of S1PR3 in an m(6)A-dependent manner and promote kidney tumorigenesis by enhancing the stability of S1PR3 mRNA. Upregulation of IGF2BPs and WTAP in RCC predicts poor overall survival.
