A New QoS-Guarantee Strategy for NOMA Assisted Semi-Grant-Free Transmission

Zhiguo Ding et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new semi-grant-free (SGF) transmission scheme that improves the transmission quality of grant-free users and ensures no impact on the quality of service experience for grant-based users. The proposed scheme enhances multi-user diversity gain and effectively avoids outage probability error floors compared to existing SGF schemes.

Throughput Analysis and User Barring Design for Uplink NOMA-Enabled Random Access

Wenjuan Yu et al.

Summary: This paper studies the throughput performance of NOMA-based random access (NOMA-RA) and finds that increasing power levels can improve maximum throughput, but the growth rate is not linear. By comparing with multi-channel slotted ALOHA (MS-ALOHA) with and without capture effect, the performance advantage of NOMA-RA is verified. An adaptive load regulation algorithm is proposed to cope with bursty traffic in mMTC scenarios. Simulations show that with the proposed algorithm, NOMA-RA's instantaneous throughput remains close to the maximum throughput, confirming the effectiveness of the load regulation.

A New Design of Hybrid SIC for Improving Transmission Robustness in Uplink NOMA

Yanshi Sun et al.

Summary: Traditionally, error floors were thought to be unavoidable in NOMA. However, recent research introduced the concept of hybrid SIC, which dynamically chooses decoding order based on users' channel conditions and quality of service requirements. The proposed new hybrid SIC scheme utilizes power control to guarantee no error floors without any conditions on users' target rates.
