This letter proposes an algebraic model to efficiently calculate the electricity consumption of freshwater production. Case study results show that the proposed model is highly accurate and time-efficient. The use of this model leads to significant reduction in operational costs for energy systems.
The water desalination plants are important infrastructures in the integrated electrical-water system. Currently it lacks accurate and time-efficient model for these plants, which affects the optimality of the integrated electrical-water system operation. This letter proposes an algebraic model to calculate the electricity consumption of the freshwater production efficiently. Results of case study show that the proposed model is highly accurate and time-efficient. The operation cost of the energy systems is significantly reduced with the proposed model.
