Xin Yang et al.

Summary: By observing from the terminals of SiC mosfet and diode, two-port networks can be formed to analyze the system characteristics and deduce the characteristic equations, which guide the design of RC snubbers. An optimized design method is developed by actively assigning poles, and the regions where oscillations can be completely suppressed are determined directly. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the analysis and proposed method.

Noise-Source Model for Frequency-Domain EMI Simulation of a Single-Phased Power Circuit

Keita Takahashi et al.

Summary: In recent years, power electronic converters have been significantly downsized due to high-density packaging techniques, resulting in larger parasitic couplings between components. To predict electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise considering such couplings, a 3-D electromagnetic simulation based on the finite element method in frequency domain is more suitable than using a circuit simulation with numerous parasitic models. The proposed noise-source model for frequency-domain EMI noise simulation involves modeling transistor and freewheeling diode using voltage and current sources based on different model topologies, with comparisons between measured and simulated results showing the validity of the model.
