Acoustic Method for Multiple Free Metallic Particle Recognition in GIS/GIL

Xiaoang Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes a new method to acoustically recognize multiple free metallic particles by establishing the physical relationship between particles to extract neighboring collision signals and calculate the mass values and density of various types of metal double-particles. The proposed method is validated on a scale concentric hemisphere platform and may provide a workable reference for GIS free metal multi-particle monitoring.

Effect of Surface Pre-Charging and Electric Field on the Contact Electrification between Liquid and Solid

Zhen Tang et al.

Summary: Contact electrification at the solid-liquid interface is a common phenomenon, however, the mechanism of charge transfer under special conditions remains unclear. Experimental results show that the electronegativity of solids and the electrostatic attraction by the net charge can either facilitate or suppress charge transfer. Factors such as precharging and applied electric field have an impact on charge transfer, and charge transfer along the opposite direction of the driving electric field force is observed.

Electrostatic Stabilization of Nano Liquid Metals in Doped Nonpolar Liquids

Jieun Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigates the colloidal behavior of nano-dispersed EGaIn in nonpolar oils, revealing the crucial role of electrostatic repulsion in colloidal stabilization and the ability to modulate it by doping the oil phases with oil-soluble surfactants. The research shows that the electric charging of EGaIn particles in surfactant-doped nonpolar oils is a static phenomenon that is maintained in equilibrium, rather than solely field-induced.
