This article focuses on the evaluation of characteristic parameters of the plate pulse forming network (PFN) considering inductive coupling. Theoretical characteristic parameters, including impedance and transmission time, were analyzed and modified based on circuit theory. Experiments, calculations, and simulations were performed to test and verify the accuracy of the modifications. The modified evaluation was found to significantly reduce the relative error in the characteristic parameters of the plate PFN.
This article focuses on the evaluation of characteristic parameters of the plate pulse forming network (PFN) considering inductive coupling. Theoretical characteristic parameters, including impedance and transmission time, were analyzed and modified based on circuit theory. Experiments, calculations, and simulations were performed on a plate PFN sample with 11 nets to test and verify the accuracy of the modifications. It is shown that the modified evaluation significantly reduces the relative error in the characteristic parameters. In addition, the modified evaluation was applied to a parallel module containing both internal and external couplings. The results demonstrate a dramatic reduction of the relative error in the characteristic parameters of the module from 16% to 1%. This modification evaluation appears to be effective in the design of plate PFN.
