High efficiency radio frequency pulse generation in a nonlinear corrugated coaxial transmission line with ferrite saturated by permanent magnets

P. Priputnev et al.

Summary: This paper presents the development of a high-power, high-frequency pulse generator based on a nonlinear transmission line with saturated ferrite. The unique feature of this generator is that the ferrite rings are saturated in the field of permanent magnets, unlike traditional generators. By utilizing a corrugated conductor as the inner conductor, the line exhibits spatial dispersion. The paper demonstrates the generation of high-frequency pulses with a duration of up to 6 ns and a center frequency of 2.7 GHz, which was not previously observed in traditional nonlinear transmission line geometry. The maximal peak power achieved was 70 MW for an incident voltage pulse of 90 kV, and the energy efficiency of video pulse energy conversion into radio pulse was 6%.

Analysis of the sharpening effect in gyromagnetic nonlinear transmission lines using the unidimensional form of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation

Ana F. G. Greco et al.

Summary: This study investigates the pulse sharpening effect in continuous nonlinear transmission lines (NLTLs) using a model based on a periodic structure. Through parametric study, the physics behind the ferrimagnetic material responses is explored, and numerical simulations reveal the impact of line parameters on the sharpening effect.

Microwave generation modes of ferrite nonlinear transmission lines up to 20 GHz

M. R. Ulmaskulov et al.

Summary: The study compared the high-voltage microwave oscillation performance of nonlinear coaxial transmission lines filled with different ferrite rings, finding that ferrite rings with a rectangular hysteresis loop provide more stable and effective microwave oscillations. The experimental data also showed a relationship between the observed processes in nonlinear ferrite lines and the spin waves of magnetization precession.
