Stability Effect of Load Converter on Source Converter in a Cascaded Buck Converter

Xi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the stability effect of the feedforward current ripple of a load converter on a source converter in a cascaded power converter. By establishing a map model, the instability mechanism of the source converter under variations of circuit parameters is expounded and the stability boundaries are obtained.

Coupling Analysis of Differential Power Processing-Based PV System and Its Decoupling Implementation of Synchronous MPPT Control

Deguang Xu et al.

Summary: Differential power processing (DPP) is a highly competitive architecture for photovoltaic (PV) applications due to its high energy efficiency and mitigation of mismatch issues. However, the complexity of coupling between DPP converters poses challenges in terms of maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in DPP-based PV systems. This article presents a method that makes the application of synchronous MPPT in DPP topology feasible based on a simple and easy partial decoupling method, improving the efficiency of MPPT and scalability of the system.

Distributed Dynamic Event-Triggered Control for Voltage Restoration and Current Sharing in DC Microgrids

Jinghang Lu et al.

Summary: A distributed dynamic event-triggered control method is proposed in this paper to solve the problem of simultaneous DC bus voltage recovery and current sharing in islanded DC microgrids. This control scheme can ensure DC bus voltage deviation removal and achieve current sharing among distributed generation units without requiring global information. The method involves data of neighboring DGs only at event-triggered times, reducing the communication burden of the DC microgrid network. The stability of the proposed method is demonstrated using the Lyapunov function and Zeno behavior is excluded. Experimental results with four case studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Input Voltage Feedforward Control Technique for DC/DC Converters to Avoid Instability in DC Grids

Federico Martin Ibanez et al.

Summary: This article discusses the use of a new feedforward technique at the input port to modify the input admittance of the load-end dc/dc converter in order to cancel the negative impedance caused by CPLs, mitigating oscillations in dc grids without increasing complexity or adding dissipative elements. Experimental results in a 2000-W test bench validate the proposal, showing that the feedforward technique effectively cancels CPL behavior in the potentially unstable frequency range with minimal impact on voltage rejection from input to output.
