Air-Stable Highly Sensitive Self-Assembled P3HT/GQD Nanocomposite-Based Organic Thin-Film Transistor for Multiparametric H2S Real-Time Detection at Room Temperature

Ankit Verma et al.

Summary: This article presents a highly selective and responsive hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas sensor operated at room temperature (25 degrees C), which is based on a poly(3-hexylthiophene-2,5-diyl) (P3HT)/graphene quantum dot (GQD) nanocomposite as the sensing surface. The GQD, with an average size of about 2 nm, is distributed randomly on the P3HT film, leading to an enhanced charge transfer mechanism and surface area/volume (S/V) ratio. The sensing film is developed through a solution-processed floating-film transfer (FTM) method on a SiO2-coated p(++) Si substrate, and its sensing performance is investigated with varying H2S gas concentrations from 0 to 25 ppm. The P3HT/GQD-based organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) shows better sensing responses compared to the pristine P3HT-based OTFT, with a sensing response of approximately 91% at 25 ppm.

Self-Assembled Au/P3HT, High- $\textit{k}$ Bilayer Dielectric-Based Solution Processed Low Voltage OTFT for Multiparametric Ammonia Sensor at Room Temperature

Ankit Verma et al.

Summary: A self-assembled, fully solution-processed bilayer (TiO2/HfO2) dielectric-based thin film transistor (TFT) was fabricated for highly sensitive ammonia gas detection at room temperature. The bilayer dielectric film, grown over a boron-doped silicon substrate, exhibited high areal capacitance, low roughness, low leakage current density, and a high dielectric constant, which are favorable for high-performance organic TFTs. The incorporation of a TiO2 layer improved the capacitance and reduced roughness of the bilayer dielectric film, enhancing the charge transfer mechanism. The developed high-k bilayer solution-processed dielectric layer was successfully used to develop a low voltage operated OTFT for ammonia gas detection, showing a rapid response and high sensing response.

Solution-Processed, Highly-Efficient Organic Field-Effect Transistor Based Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Sensor at Sub-ppm Regime

Varun Kumar Singh et al.

Summary: In this study, a highly selective and sensitive hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas sensor was developed using a thin film of conjugated organic polymer as the active sensing layer. The organic thin film was created using a cost-effective solution-processed floating film transfer method, and the annealing technique used enhanced the film's crystallinity and charge transfer properties, resulting in improved sensitivity. The fabricated organic field effect transistor (OFET) demonstrated excellent gas sensing performance for H2S gas at concentrations as low as 1 ppm.

Ankit Verma et al.

Summary: In this study, a self-aligned, cost-efficient, fully solution-processed, and low-voltage operated high-k dielectric-based p-channel organic thin-film transistor (OTFT) was developed for toxic ammonia analyte detection at room temperature. The OTFT sensor showed a high response rate of 47% at 5 ppm NH3 analyte and a low detection limit of 11.65 ppb. The developed sensor exhibited stable performance independent of relative humidity variations in the range of 30%-70%. The study demonstrates the capability of this novel low-voltage OTFT device to detect ammonia gas at room temperature.

Ultraviolet-Assisted Low-Thermal-Budget-Driven α-InGaZnO Thin Films for High-Performance Transistors and Logic Circuits

Yongchun Zhang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a low-temperature fabrication strategy for high-performance alpha-IGZO TFTs using an ultraviolet-assisted oxygen ambient rapid thermal annealing method (UV-ORTA). The experimental results show that the UV-ORTA treatment effectively suppresses defects and produces high-quality films similar to those treated at high temperatures. The alpha-IGZO/HfAIO TFTs fabricated using this method exhibit high-performance and low-voltage operation at a low temperature of 180 degrees C. A low-voltage resistor-loaded unipolar inverter based on the alpha-IGZO/HfAIO TFT demonstrates full swing characteristics and a high gain of 13.8.

Multimode transistors and neural networks based on ion-dynamic capacitance

Xiaoci Liang et al.

Summary: This study presents a concise model to describe the transient ion-dynamic capacitance in electrolyte-gated transistors and confirms the accuracy of the theory. Plasticity, high apparent mobility, sharp subthreshold swing, and memristive conductance can be achieved in a single transistor by appropriately programming the interfacial ion concentrations or matching the scan speed with ion motions. Multimode transistors with different capabilities were fabricated using common solid-state electrolyte films and were experimentally confirmed. It was also shown in software that these multimode devices could be used to create neural networks that can be switched between different types of artificial neural networks.
