Lanjian Chen et al.

Summary: A mid-distance Laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) is designed in this paper to measure the velocity of moving objects within 50 meters with high precision. The signal quality of measurement remains high, indicating the potential of this improved single-beam LDV in acquiring the high-precision velocity of low-altitude air vehicles and other remote velocity measurement applications.

A novel short fiber Bragg grating accelerometer based on a V-type dual mass block structure for low- and medium-frequency vibration measurements

Hoang-Dang Le et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel short fiber Bragg grating (FBG) accelerometer based on a dual mass block structure. The sensor is established on a solid, symmetrical design comprising a V-type beam. The FBG accelerometer configuration causes the FBG fiber to distort twice as much when subjected to external vibration. Theoretical research and optimization of the sensor's natural frequency and sensitivity are performed using MATLAB software, while static structural stress and modal simulation analysis are examined using ANSYS software. An experimental test is conducted to evaluate the sensor's implementation. The sensor has a natural frequency of 880 Hz, with a flat stability frequency response in the 20-340 Hz low-to-middle frequency range. The average sensitivity shows a linearity of approximately 66.95 pm/g, and the transverse anti-interference of the FBG fiber is around 6.53%. This work proposes a suitable method to observe low-and medium-frequency vibration signals in large-scale applications.

Medium and low frequency fiber Bragg grating acceleration sensor based on single-sided single-arc hinge

Min Shao et al.

Summary: This study designs and demonstrates a medium and low frequency fiber Bragg grating (FBG) based acceleration sensor with a single-axis single-arc hinge-shaped sensitization structure. The theoretical formula for the sensor's resonance frequency and sensitivity is provided, and the stress distribution, characteristic frequency, and amplitude frequency characteristics of the sensor are simulated and optimized. Experimental results show that the sensor has a resonance frequency of 630 Hz, a flat frequency range of 30-300 Hz, and an acceleration sensitivity of 57.77 pm/g. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity, a wide flat frequency range, and strong transverse anti-interference ability, meeting the requirements for acceleration detection in the petroleum exploration field.

Miniature bending-resistant fiber grating accelerometer based on a flexible hinge structure

Lei Liang et al.

Summary: A miniaturized fiber Bragg grating accelerometer based on flexible hinges is proposed in this paper to meet the special requirements for the size and quality of accelerometers in vibration monitoring. The accelerometer utilizes a flexible hinge as an elastic body and achieves miniaturization through a suspended arc package. The bending-resistant optical fiber grating effectively solves the issue of light loss in arc-shaped packaging. The experimental results demonstrate that the prepared accelerometer has excellent performance in terms of size, mass, and sensing characteristics, making it suitable for medium and low frequency vibration monitoring in narrow spaces.

A Model-Driven Scheme to Compensate the Strain-Based Non-Intrusive Dynamic Pressure Measurement for Hydraulic Pipe

Zechao Wang et al.

Summary: A dual-stage model-driven scheme is proposed to compensate dynamic pressure measurement by deriving DSSCs from axial governing equations of pipes, considering both thin-walled and thick-walled pipes, and calibrating physical parameters to minimize the residual between experimental and theoretical results. The compensated dynamic pressure based on the relationship between DSSCs and SSSCs shows significantly reduced relative error in an industrial hydraulic pipe system, validating the proposed compensation method.
