Factors influencing patient participation in medication counseling at the community pharmacy: A systematic review

Summary: This systematic review identified multiple factors influencing patient engagement in pharmacy encounters, including patient knowledge, communication skills, pharmacy environment, beliefs, past experiences, and demographic characteristics. Pharmacists' experiences serving culturally and linguistically diverse patients in the Australian community pharmacy setting

Summary: There is a lack of in-depth study on the experiences and future needs of community pharmacists in providing culturally competent pharmaceutical care to Australian culturally and linguistically diverse patients with low English proficiency. The study aimed to explore community pharmacists' experiences serving culturally and linguistically diverse patients with low English proficiency. Inadequate provision of culturally competent care was found to be primarily due to language incongruence between pharmacist and patient, and participants proposed various means to enhance this care.
