Summary: In patients with HPV-associated OPSCC, refusal of recommended postoperative radiation therapy is rare and associated with various socioeconomic factors such as race, insurance status, comorbidity, treatment at a single facility, and margin status. Refusal of postoperative radiation therapy may lead to lower overall survival in this population.

Occult lymph node metastasis in patients with laryngeal cancer and relevant predicting factors: a single-center experience

Summary: This retrospective study analyzed the incidence and predictive parameters of occult cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with cN0 laryngeal squamous cell cancer who underwent surgery as definitive treatment. The study found that the presence of lymph node metastasis is a poor prognostic factor and emphasized the importance of correctly determining neck status and providing appropriate treatment. The incidence of lymph node metastasis is very low in T1-T2 stages and well-differentiated tumors.
