Neutrophil extracellular traps induced by the hypoxic microenvironment in gastric cancer augment tumour growth

Jiacheng Li et al.

Summary: Hypoxia in gastric cancer triggers the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) through the HMGB1/TLR4/p38 MAPK pathway. NETs promote gastric cancer cell invasion and migration, accelerating tumor growth. Targeting NETs or the HMGB1/TLR4/p38 MAPK pathway may be a potential therapeutic strategy for inhibiting gastric cancer progression.

USP8 regulates liver cancer progression via the inhibition of TRAF6-mediated signal for NF-κB activation and autophagy induction by TLR4

Mi-Jeong Kim et al.

Summary: The study revealed that USP8 is involved in liver cancer progression through TRAF6-mediated signal, regulating NF-kappa B activation and autophagy induction. The findings suggest that USP8 plays a negative role in LIHC progression by activating the TRAF6-mediated signal.

Achaete-scute complex-like 2 regulated inflammatory mechanism through Toll-like receptor 4 activating in stomach adenocarcinoma

Summary: Through the study of ASCL2 in stomach adenocarcinoma, it is found that ASCL2 is associated with inflammation and TLR4 activation, and can regulate inflammatory response and be associated with immune cells. ASCL2 may be an upstream target factor of the TLR4 signaling pathway.

The Role of Toll-like Receptors (TLRs) Mediated Inflammation in Pancreatic Cancer Pathophysiology

Arturo Orlacchio et al.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer is a lethal form of cancer characterized by its aggressiveness and metastatic potential. Toll-like receptors play a pivotal role in inflammation and immune response, and can be potential targets for cancer therapy. Studies have shown that TLRs play an important role in the progression of pancreatic cancer.

Summary: Toll-like receptors play a critical role in the innate recognition of pathogens and orchestration of immune responses. They exhibit specificity for different pathogens and generate appropriate immune responses through a complex network of signaling. Tight regulation of TLR signaling is necessary to prevent harmful effects on the host.

The TLR4-TRIF-type 1 IFN-IFN-γ pathway is crucial for gastric MALT lymphoma formation after Helicobacter suis infection

Koji Yamamoto et al.

Summary: The activation of the Toll-like receptor 4-Toll/IL-1 receptor domain-containing adapter-inducing interferon-beta (TRIF) pathway after Helicobacter suis infection is associated with the production of type 1 interferons (IFN-alpha, IFN-beta) by gastric epithelial cells. These type 1 interferons interact with type 1 IFN receptors on gastric B cells, leading to the secretion of IFN-gamma and enhanced activation through positive feedback regulation in B cells. This TLR4-TRIF-type 1 IFN-IFN-gamma pathway plays a crucial role in the development of gastric MALT lymphoma following H. suis infection and could be a potential therapeutic target for prevention.

Hepatitis B virus X Protein Promotes Liver Cancer Progression through Autophagy Induction in Response to TLR4 Stimulation

Juhee Son et al.

Summary: The HBx protein plays a key role in regulating autophagy in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by inhibiting the BECN1-Bcl-2 complex and enhancing the TRAF6-BECN1-VPS34 complex. These mechanisms contribute to increased cell migration and invasion in liver cancer progression.

Summary: This study compared the burden of gastric cancer in MENA countries and found that the incidence of gastric cancer has decreased, but is still higher than the global average in MENA. Risk factors such as high sodium consumption and smoking contribute to the high rates, and it is recommended to implement early screening and prevention programs to reduce the impact of gastric cancer in the region, especially among men.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the role of Helicobacter pylori in the development of gastric cancer. It was found that H. pylori infection is a known risk factor for gastric cancer, and its virulence factors can trigger cell proliferation through activating cell signaling pathways, leading to cancer.
