This paper reviews the research progress in the catalytic oxidation of VOCs in the simulated flue gas, focusing on the effects of different components of flue gas on the structure and activity of catalysts. The promotion and inhibition effects of water, SO2, NOx, Cl, CO2, and heavy metals in the actual industrial flue gas on the structure and performance of the catalyst are discussed. Methods to improve the antitoxicity of the catalyst are reviewed, and the challenges and prospects of antitoxicity catalysts for VOCs are proposed.
Catalysts are essential in the catalytic oxidation technology for VOCs treatment. In the actual conditions of VOCs degradation, the composition of industrial flue gas is complex, which seriously affects the structure and activity of the catalysts, and this effect can be either positive or negative. Therefore, this paper reviews the research progress in the catalytic oxidation of VOCs in the simulated flue gas in recent years, focusing on the effects of different components of flue gas on the structure and activity of catalysts. Firstly, the effects of water, SO2, NOx, Cl, CO2, and heavy metals in the actual industrial flue gas on the structure and performance of the catalyst are discussed, including the promoting and inhibiting effects. Then, according to the different components in the flue gas, the methods to improve the antitoxicity of the catalyst are reviewed in detail. Finally, the current research status is summarized, and the challenges and prospects of antitoxicity catalysts for VOCs are proposed. This work aims to provide a theoretical and experimental basis for the rational preparation of VOCs catalysts with superb antitoxicity in industry.
