Fire-related cues improve germination and seedling vigor of the post-fire off-spring of Pinus radiata, a serotinous invader tree

Ramiro R. Ripa et al.

Summary: The study analyzes the impact of fire on seed germination and early growth of Pinus radiata. The results show that seeds from post-fire invasion and unburned plantation still have high germination rates under fire-associated treatments. Seedlings from post-fire invasion exhibit better growth with the presence of ash and thermal shock.
