Observations on the distribution and control of Salmonella in commercial broiler hatcheries in Great Britain

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence of Salmonella in commercial hatcheries in Great Britain and assessed the effectiveness of providing advice on Salmonella control. The study found low-level contamination of Salmonella in some hatcheries, with certain areas being more contaminated than others. It was also shown that significant reductions in prevalence can be achieved through improvements in biosecurity, cleaning, and disinfection.

Antimicrobial resistance and genomic characterization of Salmonella enterica serovar Senftenberg isolates in production animals from the United States

Summary: This study characterized S. Senftenberg isolates from production animals in the USA by analyzing their antimicrobial resistance profiles, genomic features, and phylogeny. The results showed a high prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in this serovar and identified different lineages. This study provides a basis for future research on the antimicrobial characterization of S. Senftenberg isolates in animals.
