Nitrogen doped biomass derived carbon dots as a fluorescence dual-mode sensing platform for detection of tetracyclines in biological and food samples

Yanchun Jia et al.

Summary: In this study, nitrogen-doped carbon dots (N-CDs) were synthesized hydrothermally using abundantly accessible pitaya peel and 1,2-ethylenediamine as precursors. N-CDs exhibited favorable photostability and served as a multi-functional nano-sensor for detecting tetracycline antibiotics. The fluorescence of N-CDs was rapidly quenched by tetracycline and oxytetracycline, while it showed remarkable enhancement in the presence of chlortetra-cycline. Additionally, a fluorescence sensor array was developed for identifying multiple tetracycline antibiotics in real samples.

Preparation of fatty acid-based ternary deep eutectic solvents: Application for determination of tetracycline residue in water, honey and milk samples by using vortex-assisted microextraction

Muhammad Farooque Lanjwani et al.

Summary: A simple, rapid, low cost, selective, and sensitive analytical method was developed using fatty acid-based ternary deep eutectic solvents (TDESs) for extraction and determination of tetracycline in honey, milk, and water samples by vortex assisted (VA) microextraction and UV-vis spectrophotometer. The method exhibited high recovery, low detection limit, wide linear range, and was successfully applied to real samples.

Detection of tetracycline antibiotics using fluorescent Turn-off sensor based on S, N-doped carbon quantum dots

Yao Fan et al.

Summary: A novel fluorescent sensor based on S, N-doped carbon quantum dots (S, N-CQDs) was developed for rapid detection of tetracycline antibiotics (TCs). The sensor exhibited a good linear relationship and could accurately detect antibiotic residues in milk, honey, and tap water.

Photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline in aqueous systems under visible light irridiation using needle-like SnO2 nanoparticles anchored on exfoliated g-C3N4

Adewumi Olufemi Oluwole et al.

Summary: In this study, needle-like SnO2/g-C3N4 nanocomposites were synthesized and showed efficient decomposition of tetracycline under visible light irradiation. The heterojunction between SnO2 nanoparticles and exfoliated g-C3N4 nanosheets promoted the separation of charge carriers, leading to enhanced degradation of tetracycline. This nanocomposite material has potential applications for the degradation of pharmaceuticals with similar chemical structures.

Efficient degradation of tetracycline by singlet oxygen-dominated peroxymonosulfate activation with magnetic nitrogen-doped porous carbon

Shaohua Wu et al.

Summary: The study thoroughly examined the degradation of tetracycline (TC) in the constructed Co-N/C-PMS system, finding that the removal rate of TC reached 85.4% when Co-N/C and PMS were added simultaneously, with a higher degradation rate compared to using Co-N/C or PMS alone. The system was identified as a singlet oxygen-dominated nonradical reaction, providing a promising approach for eliminating TC in water treatment.

A simple turn off-on ratio fluorescent probe for sensitive detection of dopamine and lysine/arginine

Guohua Mi et al.

Summary: A novel off-on single-excited dual-emissive ratio fluorescence sensor has been developed for highly selective and sensitive detection of dopamine and lysine/arginine. The fluorescence intensity ratio shows a linear relationship with dopamine concentration and has a low detection limit. Additionally, the sensor has been successfully applied for dopamine detection in human serum.
