Burning Rate and Flow Resistance Through Porous Fuel Beds: Axisymmetric Versus Line Fires

Sara McAllister

Summary: This study investigated the relationship between the burning behavior of crib fires and line fires. By testing and analyzing different crib designs, it was found that in most cases, crib fires can provide an acceptable approximation of the burning rate of line fires. However, for cribs with thinner sticks, further research is needed to understand the relationship between crib fires and line fires.
