Hybrid MCDM and simulation-optimization for strategic supplier selection

Thomy Eko Saputro et al.

Summary: Supplier selection for strategic items requires a comprehensive framework that addresses the qualitative and quantitative aspects of a company's competitive priorities and supply risk. This study aims to tackle this issue by using a multi-sourcing approach, incorporating multi-criteria and considering uncertain decision makers' judgment and supplier-buyer parameters. The study also integrates inventory management, which has not been well-addressed in previous research. The proposed solution approach combines multi-criteria decision-making and multi-objective simulation-optimization, considering cost-related criteria and supply disruptions.

Pythagorean fuzzy DEMATEL method for supplier selection in sustainable supply chain management

Bibhas Chandra Giri et al.

Summary: The paper presents a DEMATEL method based on Pythagorean fuzzy set for solving the supplier selection problem in sustainable supply chain management. The method considers handling uncertainty and incomplete information, as well as dealing with the fuzziness of human decisions. The proposed method allows for identifying the cause-effect components of the system.

The region-cap allocation and delivery time decision in the marketplace mode under the cap-and-trade regulation

Xiaoping Xu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the production and delivery time decisions of a manufacturer selling products through an online platform, as well as the government's region-cap setting under cap-and-trade regulation. The study compares the two allocation rules and finds that they have different effects on production quantities and social welfare. The environmental damage coefficient also plays a role in the region-cap setting.

Robust optimization of sustainable closed-loop supply chain considering carbon emission schemes

Heris Golpira et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on developing an optimal sustainable Closed-Loop Supply Chain (CLSC) in the context of the circular economy, considering different Carbon Emission Schemes (CESs). A risk-based robust mixed-integer linear programming method is used to handle demand uncertainty. The results show that the model's performance is influenced by the Decision-Maker's (DM's) risk-aversion and the CESs, with the carbon cap-and-trade policy having the best cost-performance and acceptable robustness.

A robust optimization framework for energy management of CCHP users with integrated demand response in electricity market

Lingmin Chen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a flexible participation mode of integrated demand response (IDR) resources and establishes a robust scheduling optimization model considering IDR in micro-energy grid, aiming at the uncertainties of renewable energy output and electric, cooling, and heating loads. The results show that the robust optimization model improves the system's ability to resist uncertain risks, and integrated demand response enhances the model's economy and the self-sufficiency of the micro-energy grid.

Summary: This study proposes a hybrid multi-method and multi-criteria decision-making framework for sustainable supplier selection in the chemical industry. Specific methods such as Fuzzy Grey Relational Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and cloud computing-entropy weight method are used to analyze the economic, social, and environmental dimensions, respectively. The integration of evaluation results from these dimensions using the Decision-making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory can help managers choose more sustainable suppliers and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Channel addition from marketplace or reselling under regional carbon cap-and-trade regulation

Xiaoping Xu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the optimal decision making process for a manufacturer adding a channel to their current online platform, comparing the profits before and after the addition. The study finds that adding a reselling channel to a marketplace channel increases the manufacturer's profit, while the opposite scenario may lead to a decrease in profit if certain conditions are met.
