A novel MgF2/PDA/S-HA coating on the bio-degradable ZE21B alloy for better multi-functions on cardiovascular application

Yang Yu et al.

Summary: Recently, researchers have been studying functional molecules such as Polydopamine (PDA), Hyaluronic Acid (HA), and heparin for surface modification of magnesium (Mg) alloy stents. However, their application is limited due to undesirable anticoagulant function, uncontrollable degradation, and easy bleeding. In this study, a magnesium Fluoride/Polydopamine/Sulphonated hyaluronic acid (MgF2/PDA/S-HA) composite coating was successfully prepared to address these limitations. The composite coating demonstrated excellent corrosion performance and potential application in the field of cardiovascular biomaterials.

Self-driven nanoprodrug platform with enhanced ferroptosis for synergistic photothermal-IDO immunotherapy

Ping Huang et al.

Summary: We report a multifunctional nanoprodrug platform that combines ferroptosis, photothermal therapy, and immunotherapy to awaken immune responses and block the indoleamine 2,3-diox-ygenase (IDO) pathway, thereby overcoming the limitations of tumor immunotherapy. The platform improved the delivery efficiency of indoximod (IND) and strengthened immune response through the self-driven release of IND and the amplification of oxidative stress. This study provides a new perspective on immunotherapeutics for cancer treatment.

Sugar-dependent targeting and immune adjuvant effects of hyperbranched glycosylated polypeptide nanoparticles for ovalbumin delivery

Yingying Song et al.

Summary: This study revealed the sugar-dependent targeting and immune adjuvant effects of hyperbranched glycosylated polypeptide nanoparticles as ovalbumin (OVA) delivery system. Mannose-coated polypeptide nanoparticles showed the strongest targeting and immune adjuvant effects on macrophages compared to glucose/lactose-coated ones, effectively delivering OVA into cells and facilitating OVA subcellular escape from endolysosomes into the cytoplasm with the assistance of UV irradiation or intracellular acidic pH.
