Diastereoselective (3+3) Cycloaddition of Azomethine Imines with In Situ Formed Azaoxyallyl Cations from a- Halohydroxamate

Summary: A diastereoselective (3+3) cycloaddition of azomethine imines and in situ-generated azaoxyallyl cations from a-halohydroxamate promoted by a Bronsted base has been developed. A series of pyrazolo [1,2-a][1,2,4]triazin-6-ones were accessed with up to 95% yields and diastereoselectivities greater than 20:1. The asymmetric version of this reaction was explored and moderate enantioselectivity was achieved after screening a series of cinchonine-derived chiral catalysts.

Summary: A novel oxidative (3 + 3) cycloaddition/ring-opening reaction has been developed between N,N'-cyclic azomethine imines and in situ generated diaza-oxylallyl cations from simple urea derivatives in the presence of base and PhI(OAc)(2). This transformation shows good performance with a broad substrate scope, providing easy and rapid access to 1,2,3,5-tetrazine-4(1H)-one derivatives in good yields.

(3+2) Cycloaddition Reaction of the Endocyclic N-Silyl Enamine and N,N′-Cyclic Azomethine Imine

Summary: We described the (3 + 2) cycloaddition reaction between endocyclic N-silyl enamines and N,N'-cyclic azomethine imines. This reaction utilized the versatile endocyclic N-silyl enamine intermediates obtained from the dearomative hydrosilylation of N-heteroarenes, and the tetracyclic pyrazolidinone structure was synthesized in a straightforward and atom-economical manner. We also discussed the potential origins of the different reactivity and endo/exo selectivity based on the structures of proposed transition states.
