Mineralisation of catch crop residues and N transfer to the subsequent crop

Summary: Catch crops are utilized to reduce nitrogen leaching in arable systems. The study showed that the C:N ratio can predict mineral N release from catch crop residues. Additionally, catch crops increase spring barley yield and reduce nitrogen leaching through nitrogen transfer.
