Effect of inner ear malformations on intraoperative ECAP thresholds and postoperative auditory performance

Jeong-Seo Kim et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the influence of inner ear malformations (IEMs) on intraoperative electrically evoked compound action potential (ECAP) and auditory performance in cochlear implant (CI) patients. The results showed that severe IEMs were associated with worse auditory performance, while mild IEMs had performance comparable to normal individuals. The findings suggest that electrophysiological responses measured during surgery may be indicative of postoperative auditory outcomes in CI patients.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the slope characteristics of ECAP AGF in cochlear implant recipients, revealing significant differences in slope at different electrode positions, particularly higher slopes at the most apical electrode contacts.
