High Nitric Oxide Concentration Inhibits Photosynthetic Pigment Biosynthesis by Promoting the Degradation of Transcription Factor HY5 in Tomato

Lingyu Wang et al.

Summary: This study explored the regulation of photosynthetic pigment biosynthesis by nitric oxide (NO) in tomato plants. The findings suggest that a high level of NO inhibits pigment accumulation and photosynthetic capacities by degrading HY5 protein and suppressing the transcription of genes involved in pigment biosynthesis.

Nitric oxide negatively regulates gibberellin signaling to coordinate growth and salt tolerance in Arabidopsis

Lichao Chen et al.

Summary: This study reveals the important role of nitric oxide (NO)-mediated S-nitrosylation in regulating the interaction between RGA protein and SLY1 protein in response to salinity stress. S-nitrosylation of RGA at Cys-374 inhibits its proteasomal degradation, resulting in reduced growth but enhanced salt tolerance. These findings demonstrate the negative regulatory effect of NO on gibberellin signaling and its coordination of plant growth and stress responses.

BBX24 Interacts with DELLA to Regulate UV-B-Induced Photomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana

Yuewei Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the crosstalk between GA and UV-B signaling pathways in UV-B-induced photomorphogenesis. It is found that DELLA acts as a positive regulator in UV-B-induced photomorphogenesis. Additionally, the HY5-BBX24-DELLA module is identified as an important signal regulating network.

Mechanisms of UV-B light-induced photoreceptor UVR8 nuclear localization dynamics

Fang Fang et al.

Summary: Light regulates the subcellular localization of plant photoreceptors UVR8, and UV-B radiation induces UVR8 nuclear accumulation. The UV-B-induced UVR8 nuclear translocation is independent of COP1 but relies on UVR8 monomerization and size reduction. COP1 promotes UVR8 nuclear retention, while RUP1 and RUP2 inhibit UVR8 nuclear retention by attenuating the UVR8-COP1 interaction.

HBI1 acts downstream of ERECTA and SWR1 in regulating inflorescence architecture through the activation of the brassinosteroid and auxin signaling pathways

Hanyang Cai et al.

Summary: This study shows that HBI1 functions downstream of PREs in the SWR1 and ER pathways to regulate inflorescence architecture by promoting pedicel elongation, involving activation of both the BR and auxin hormone pathways.

The light and dark sides of nitric oxide: multifaceted roles o nitric oxide in plant responses to light

Patricia Juliana Lopes-Oliveira et al.

Summary: This review examines the role of nitric oxide (NO) in controlling plant growth, development, metabolism, and stress responses through its interactions with light and hormonal signaling cascades. It also discusses the versatile functions of NO in regulating photosynthesis and stomatal movements, highlighting the importance of nitrate reductase (NR) regulation for adjusting NO production in plants exposed to natural light conditions.

Gibberellin regulates UV-B-induced hypocotyl growth inhibition in Arabidopsis thaliana

Tingting Miao et al.

Summary: This study revealed that UV-B radiation decreases endogenous gibberellin content in plants, but exogenous gibberellin can partially restore hypocotyl growth; UV-B affects the expression of genes related to GA metabolism, leading to increased GA content; HY5 regulates hypocotyl growth under UV-B radiation by modulating the abundance of DELLAs.
