Harnessing the Quantum Behavior of Spins on Surfaces

Yi Chen et al.

Summary: This article introduces the control and measurement of individual quantum systems in the field of quantum information science. The combination of scanning tunneling microscopy and electron spin resonance allows for coherent control and readout of individual spins on surfaces. The article also discusses three domains of applications for surface spins, namely quantum sensing, quantum control, and quantum simulation, and provides physical principles and examples.

Entanglement dynamics and population inversion of a two-qubit system in two cavities coupled with optical fiber in the presence of two-photon transition

S. A. S. Musavi et al.

Summary: In this paper, the entanglement between two qubits in separate cavities connected by an optical fiber is investigated, taking into account two-photon transitions and Kerr medium effect. The numerical results show that if the Kerr medium is large enough, the initial entanglement between the qubits can be protected from large amplitude fluctuations, leading to acceptable stability. Qubit-field coupling and detuning effects are also studied, with symmetric coupling resulting in more stability of entanglement. Additionally, it is observed that atomic population inversion can be controlled by considering different parameters.

Pure Dephasing of Light-Matter Systems in the Ultrastrong and Deep-Strong Coupling Regimes

Alberto Mercurio et al.

Summary: Pure dephasing is important for both spectroscopy and quantum information technology, and often leads to decay of quantum correlations. We investigate how pure dephasing of one component of a hybrid quantum system affects the dephasing rate of system transitions. We find that the interaction in a light-matter system significantly affects the stochastic perturbation describing the dephasing of a subsystem, depending on the gauge adopted.

Charge-Noise-Induced Dephasing in Silicon Hole-Spin Qubits

Ognjen Malkoc et al.

Summary: Theoretically investigating charge-noise-induced spin dephasing of a hole confined in a quasi-two-dimensional silicon quantum dot, the study found that higher-order corrections to the Luttinger Hamiltonian can create "sweet spots" to boost hole-spin dephasing time significantly. The device details, including dot size and asymmetry, growth direction, and applied magnetic and electric fields, play a crucial role in determining the location of these "sweet spots".

High fidelity two-qubit gates on fluxoniums using a tunable coupler

Ilya N. Moskalenko et al.

Summary: Researchers presented a two-qubit fluxonium-based quantum processor, demonstrating fSim-type and controlled-Z gates with fidelities of 99.55% and 99.23%, respectively, while suppressing residual ZZ interaction to the few kHz levels. High-fidelity single-qubit gates and ground state initialization were achieved using a galvanically coupled flux control line.

Demonstration of dynamical control of three-level open systems with a superconducting qutrit

Ri-Hua Zheng et al.

Summary: This article presents a method for dynamical control in three-level open systems and demonstrates its implementation in an experiment with a superconducting qutrit. The results show that in a Markovian environment, the populations or coherence of the system can still strictly follow the preset evolution paths for a relatively long time (3 μs). This experiment is the first to precisely control the Markovian dynamics of three-level open systems, providing a solid foundation for future dynamical control in multiple open systems. An immediate application of this technique is to stabilize the energy of quantum batteries.

Generation of Werner-like states via a two-qubit system plunged in a thermal reservoir and their application in solving binary classification problems

E. Ghasemian et al.

Summary: A theoretical scheme for generating stationary entangled states is proposed, resulting in two classes of entangled states. Analytical solutions for the population and coherence of the system are obtained, showing that residual coherence can be maintained even in equilibrium. The two-qubit system is successfully encoded for solving a binary classification problem, demonstrating high accuracy and superiority over classical classifiers.

Suppressing Coherent Two-Qubit Errors via Dynamical Decoupling

Jiawei Qiu et al.

Summary: To achieve scalable quantum information processing, the ability to tune multi-qubit interactions is crucial. However, this can lead to difficulties in precise manipulation of quantum states. The use of dynamical decoupling techniques has been shown to effectively suppress coherent errors between multi-qubits, resulting in an enhancement in pure dephasing time.
