Co-optimization strategies for connected and automated fuel cell hybrid vehicles in dynamic curving scenarios

Zhigen Nie et al.

Summary: This study proposes a co-optimization strategy for speed planning and energy management of connected and automated fuel cell hybrid vehicles (CAFCHVs) in curves, addressing the challenges posed by uncertainties in complex traffic conditions and CAFCHV's lateral stability. The strategy combines phase plane analysis, gradient-based model prediction control (GRAMPC), and an energy management strategy (EMS). Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy achieves a safe and optimal speed sequence, reducing hydrogen consumption, battery degradation, and total cost compared to the mode of tracking the speed of the preceding vehicle.
