Thiourea with sulfur-donor as an effective additive for enhanced performance of lead-free double perovskite photovoltaic cells

Xiaoqing Yang et al.

Summary: This work presents a strategy to retard the crystallization of Cs2AgBiBr6 perovskites by introducing Lewis base additives, leading to improved film quality, decreased defect density, and inhibited charge carrier recombination. The optimized cell exhibits a superior power conversion efficiency of 3.07% and outstanding stability with a retention rate of 95% after 20 days of storage in air. This study provides an effective strategy for further improvements in the performance of inorganic lead-free Cs2AgBiBr6-based photovoltaic cells.

Two-dimensional Dion-Jacobson halide perovskites as new-generation light absorbers for perovskite solar cells

Huimin Xiang et al.

Summary: In recent years, two-dimensional (2D) halide perovskites have gained attention as light absorbers in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) due to their better stability compared to three-dimensional (3D) perovskites. However, the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 2D PSCs are still lower than their 3D counterparts. This review compares Dion-Jacobson (DJ) perovskites with Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) perovskites in terms of their properties and presents strategies to improve the PCE and stability of DJ-PSCs. The remaining challenges and future directions for DJ-PSCs are also discussed.

Effect of the seed layer on the UV photodetection properties of ZnO nanorods

Mohammad Banari et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that by varying the thickness of the ZnO seed layer, the optical and photodetection properties of ZnO nanorods can be effectively controlled. The sample with a seed layer thickness of 100 nm showed the lowest recombination, indicating the importance of proper tuning of the seed layer for optimizing the functionality of nanorods. The results suggest a simple and straightforward strategy for achieving desired electronic and optical properties in ZnO nanorods for specific applications.
