Qie Sun et al.

Summary: This study proposes a novel integrated stochastic programming-information gap decision theory (IGDT) approach to handle uncertainties in the optimization of integrated energy systems (IES) operation and planning. By applying this approach to an office building, different operation schedules and equipment capacities are generated, representing risk-averse and risk-seeking strategies. The results show that adjusting the operation of gas turbines, energy storage units, and grid interaction can effectively handle uncertainties and resist associated risks.

Stochastic-Metaheuristic Model for Multi-Criteria Allocation of Wind Energy Resources in Distribution Network Using Improved Equilibrium Optimization Algorithm

Abdulaziz Alanazi et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a stochastic-meta-heuristic model for the allocation of wind turbines in a distribution network. The model incorporates uncertainty of resource production and network demand, and utilizes an improved equilibrium optimization algorithm for solving the problem. The results demonstrate that incorporating uncertainties increases the losses, weakens the voltage profile and stability, and reduces the network reliability.

Multi-objective optimization dispatching of a micro-grid considering uncertainty in wind power forecasting

Sizhou Sun et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new multi-objective optimization dispatching method for distributed generators in a micro-grid, considering uncertainty in wind power forecasting. The method aims to minimize operational cost and pollutant emission. An adaptive concept of confidence interval (ACCI) is proposed to deal with uncertainty, and a probabilistic wind power interval forecasting model is developed based on deterministic wind power forecasting and ACCI. The proposed method demonstrates good performance and achieves appropriate confidence level in each dispatching hour.

Optimum allocation of battery energy storage systems for power grid enhanced with solar energy

Farihan Mohamad et al.

Summary: The penetration of renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy, is increasing globally to reduce carbon emissions. Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) emerge as an important component of solar-integrated power systems due to their ability to store surplus solar power. However, traditional BESS deployment lacks consideration of network topology and cooperation among BESSs, limiting their ability to collectively store excess solar power.
