Dynamic evaluation of green development level of ASEAN region and its spatio-temporal patterns

Myat Su Han et al.

Summary: Being one of the most dynamic economic regions of the world, ASEAN faces significant challenges in terms of environmental protection. The study evaluates the green development level of ASEAN member states from 2010 to 2019, and finds that countries with higher green development levels have a solid economic base and prioritize coordinated development of economy, society, and environment. On the other hand, countries with lower green development levels face challenges of low economic growth and environmental preservation.

Peipei Chen et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of energy policies on sustainable development goals in 42 Asia-Pacific countries. The results show that energy policies have contributed positively to improving access to electricity, clean cooking, energy efficiency, and renewable electricity capacity. Strategies have a greater impact on advancing electrification, clean cooking, and renewable electricity capacity, while laws are more effective for achieving energy efficiency.

The impact of economic policy uncertainty on corporate social responsibility: A new evidence from food industry in China

Fang Su et al.

Summary: This paper examines the influence of China's macroeconomic policy uncertainty on corporate social responsibility by studying the practice of food enterprises in China's A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2018. The results show that economic policy uncertainty has a negative effect on the social responsibility of food enterprises, especially for non-state-owned enterprises. Additionally, in the case of greater economic policy uncertainty, food enterprises with stronger market connections tend to be more conservative in their corporate social responsibility practices.

Nexus Between Carbon Emissions, Energy Consumption, Urbanization and Economic Growth in Asia: Evidence From Common Correlated Effects Mean Group Estimator (CCEMG)

Yusuf Babatunde Adeneye et al.

Summary: The study examines the dynamic relationships between carbon emission, urbanization, energy consumption, and economic growth in 42 Asian countries from 2000 to 2014 using dynamic common correlated effects panel data modeling. Results show high average coefficient of 0.602 between carbon emission and energy consumption, indicating cointegration among carbon emission, urbanization, energy consumption, and economic growth. Robust to PMG-ARDL estimator, findings demonstrate long run relationships attributed to carbon taxation and energy prices, with implications for renewable energy policy and urban planning insights for policymakers.
