Thermodynamic analyses of ejector refrigeration cycle with zeotropic mixture

Bo Liu et al.

Summary: A model is established for an ejector with a zeotropic refrigerant as the working medium, and the refrigeration cycle of the ejector is analysed. The influence of the temperature glide on the temperature and pressure in different parts of the ejector is investigated. The results show that using a zeotropic mixture can increase the outlet temperatures of the generator and evaporator, and the average temperature difference in the condenser is larger due to the temperature glide characteristics of the zeotropic refrigerant.

Development and performance assessment of a novel combined power system integrating a supercritical carbon dioxide Brayton cycle with an absorption heat transformer

Junrong Tang et al.

Summary: The study investigates the system performance enhancement of the sCO2 Brayton cycle with an absorption heat transformer (AHT), which serves as a bottoming cycle to upgrade waste heat energy. The sCO2/AHT system shows the best performance, with higher exergy efficiency and lower total product unit cost compared to the sCO2 system and sCO2/ORC system. Exergy analysis indicates effective reduction of energy loss and strengthened regeneration effect in the proposed system.

Techno-economic analysis of cascaded supercritical carbon dioxide combined cycles for exhaust heat recovery of typical gas turbines

Yue Cao et al.

Summary: This paper presents a techno-economic investigation of a cascaded supercritical carbon dioxide cycle for typical gas turbines. The results show that the cascaded supercritical CO2 combined cycle is thermodynamically favorable for small-scale gas turbines with high exhaust temperatures and is a viable option for large-scale gas turbines.

Exergy analysis in a HCCI engine operated with diethyl ether-fusel oil blends

Juan Zapata-Mina et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance of an HCCI engine operated with various fuel ratios and lambda values. The results show that the highest engine efficiency is achieved when using a blend of 40% diethyl ether and 60% fusel oil (D40F60) at a lambda between 2.1 and 2.2. However, increasing the amount of diethyl ether in the blend decreases the performance of the HCCI engine. Operating with a blend of 80% diethyl ether and 20% fusel oil (D80F20) also provides better stability of performance.

Performance Analysis of an Integrated Supercritical CO2 Recompression/Absorption Refrigeration/Kalina Cycle Driven by Medium-Temperature Waste Heat

Su Ruizhi et al.

Summary: A novel power and cooling cogeneration system combining a supercritical CO2 recompression cycle, an ammonia-water absorption refrigeration cycle, and a Kalina cycle has been proposed for efficiently recovering medium-temperature waste heat. A steady-state mathematical model is built to analyze the system's performance. Parametric study reveals significant effects of compressor inlet pressure, SCRC pressure ratio, main compressor and turbine I inlet temperature, and AARC generator pressure on the system's thermodynamic and economic performance.

Comparative investigation on the supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle for waste heat recovery of gas turbine

Bo Li et al.

Summary: This paper conducts a comparative investigation on the supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle for waste heat recovery of gas turbine, selecting four categories and six cycles to represent typical layouts. The turbine is found to dominate the investment cost of the system, suggesting the use of dual heated cascade cycle-II or partial heating cycle to improve system efficiency.
