Development of an Energy Management System for a Renewable Energy Community and Performance Analysis via Global Sensitivity Analysis

Amir Ahmadifar et al.

Summary: This paper presents the development of an energy management system (EMS) for a renewable energy community (REC) with the load-generation balancing objective. Rule-based and optimization mechanisms are proposed for the REC management considering the scarcity of measurement and historical data. Global sensitivity analysis (GSA) is used to conduct a comprehensive performance analysis of the proposed EMS, revealing interesting findings contradicting preconceptions about the impact of uncertainty sources on EMS performance. The work highlights the necessity of GSA and offers a useful tool for system operators in decision making.
