Dynamics of Topological Defects in a Tunnel-Diode Oscillator Lattice Loop

Summary: This study investigates the dynamical behavior of topological defects in a tunnel-diode oscillator lattice loop. Bifurcation analyses were conducted to demonstrate that certain bias voltages eliminate sink-source pair solutions and generate topological defects in the form of dislocations within the rotary pulses. The topological defects move in the opposite direction of the rotary pulses and exhibit sub-harmonic synchronization. Time-domain coherent measurements of a test lattice loop fabricated on a breadboard confirmed the existence of these defects. The results of bifurcation analyses and measurements are reported in this paper.
