The role of electrolysis and enzymatic hydrolysis treatment in the enhancement of the electrochemical properties of 3D-printed carbon black/poly(lactic acid) structures

Adrian Koterwa et al.

Summary: Additive manufacturing is playing a significant role in industrial and personalized product development. This study proposes a method of activating the surfaces of printed products using electrolysis and enzymatic digestion, and determines the optimal activation protocol through electrochemical techniques and surface chemistry analysis. The results suggest that the combination of electrolysis and enzymatic digestion can efficiently shorten the activation duration.

Ultrasensitive electrochemical determination of the cancer biomarker protein sPD-L1 based on a BMS-8-modified gold electrode

Pawel Niedzialkowski et al.

Summary: This study successfully demonstrates the modification of a gold electrode with BMS-8 compound for interaction with PD-L1, and further investigates the selectivity of the electrode for other proteins. The work provides a new approach for electrochemical detection of immune checkpoint proteins.

Low-power microwave-induced fabrication of functionalised few-layer black phosphorus electrodes: A novel route towards Haemophilus Influenzae pathogen biosensing devices

Pawel Jakobczyk et al.

Summary: Various passivation schemes were applied to few-layer black phosphorus for covalent functionalisation, improving its electrochemical response. Thermal and microwave assisted modification in different solvents resulted in high reversibility of reactions. Functionalisation limited degradation under ambient conditions and provided a potential linker for protein bonding.

A simple unlabeled human chorionic gonadotropin biosensor based on a peptide aptamer

Huanhuan Li et al.

Summary: This study successfully constructed an unlabeled biosensor based on a peptide aptamer for accurate, sensitive and simple detection of HCG. The biosensor showed a good linear relationship, with a detection limit of 1 mIU mL(-1), and remained stable at room temperature for 14 days, making it a potential portable diagnostic device for HCG.
