Bioorthogonally activatable cyanine dye with torsion-induced disaggregation for in vivo tumor imaging

Xianghan Zhang et al.

Summary: This article presents a method for expanding the repertoire of responsive dyes in biorthogonal chemistry by developing a near-infrared fluorophore that turns on its fluorescence upon biorthogonal reaction. The study discovers a design mechanism for the construction of bioorthogonally activatable NIR fluorophores and demonstrates their potential in sensitive in vivo imaging of tumors.

Efficient red hybridized local and charge-transfer OLEDs by rational isomer engineering

Changjiang Zhou et al.

Summary: In this study, two novel red isomers were designed and synthesized, which achieved red emission and high excitons utilization through hybridized local and charge-transfer state. The non-radiative transition was suppressed through isomer engineering, resulting in high fluorescence quantum efficiency. The OLEDs based on these isomers achieved a high external quantum efficiency with emission peak at 604 nm.

Isomer Engineering of Lepidine-Based Iridophosphors for Far-Red Hypoxia Imaging and Photodynamic Therapy

Peng Tao et al.

Summary: The rational molecular design greatly promotes the development of highly efficient cyclometalated phosphorescent iridium(III) complexes. In this study, a simple yet efficient strategy is proposed for the manipulation of the excited states of 2-phenyllepidine-based iridophosphors, resulting in significant tuning of phosphorescence wavelength. An oxygen-responsive iridophosphor is employed for accurate oxygen sensing and efficient photodynamic therapy, making it a promising candidate for image-guided photodynamic therapeutic agent.

Efficient red fluorescent OLEDs based on aggregation-induced emission combined with hybridized local and charge transfer state

Yuan Yu et al.

Summary: By designing and synthesizing a D-A-D red fluorescent molecule PBTPA, combining aggregation-induced emission and hybridized local and charge transfer states, high solid-state luminescence efficiency and high exciton utilization efficiency were achieved. The external quantum efficiency and EUE values obtained in the experiment are relatively good, providing a reference for improving the efficiency of red OLEDs.
