Preparation of carbon nitride nanotubes with P-doping and their photocatalytic properties for hydrogen evolution

Dawoon Jang et al.

Summary: In this work, one-dimensional P-doped carbon nitride nanotubes have been successfully synthesized using supramolecular self-assembly. These nanotubes exhibit great potential as an eco-friendly, visible-light-active photocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction. The addition of an ionic liquid improves the uniformity of the nanotubes. Thorough structural and photophysical characterizations reveal that the nanotubes possess larger surface areas, more amine bridges, better crystallinity, and higher visible-light-absorption ability, which contribute to their enhanced photocatalytic performance.

Enhanced photocatalytic degradation of ofloxacin by Sm2Ti2O7 supported on quartz sand

Tianyi Zhang et al.

Summary: Sm2Ti2O7 (STO) was synthesized on quartz sand (QS) to inhibit particle aggregation and promote activity. The growth of STO crystals was reduced after loading onto QS. Different STO-QS composites were characterized and compared for their bandgap energies, surface area, pore volume, and photocatalytic activity. With increasing STO content, the photocatalytic activity of STO-QS composites increased, and 50%STO-QS showed the highest activity. The reaction rate constants and degradation efficiency of ofloxacin were also measured for pure STO and different STO-QS composites.
