Summary: In 2012, the FDA approved tofacitinib citrate (TOF) for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Electroanalytical methods using glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and boron-doped diamond electrode (BDDE) were developed to determine TOF. The effects of pH, electrolyte, and scanning rate on TOF's peak current and potentials were investigated. The proposed methods showed excellent recovery results for determining TOF in pharmaceutical dosage forms and serum samples.

An electrochemical nanosensor for simultaneous quantification of acetaminophen and acyclovir by ND@Dy2O3-IL/CPE

Summary: A novel voltammetric nanosensor was developed using nanodiamond decorated dysprosium oxide and ionic liquid modified carbon paste electrode (ND@Dy2O3-IL/CPE) for the simultaneous quantification of acetaminophen (AC) and Acyclovir (ACV). The modified electrode showed enhanced oxidation peak currents for AC and ACV compared to bare CPE. Response surface methodology (RSM) determined the optimal conditions for maximum electro-catalytic current. The ND@Dy2O3-IL/CPE exhibited good stability, repeatability, and excellent recovery, and was successfully applied for the quantification of AC and ACV in human serum samples.

Facile fabrication of an electrochemical sensor for the determination of two sulfonamide antibiotics in milk, honey and water samples using the effective modification of carbon paste electrode with graphitic carbon nitride and manganese oxide nanostructures

Summary: A facile, cost-effective, sensitive, and fast electrochemical sensor was developed for the detection of sulfa-thiazole (STZ) and sulfapyridine (SP) using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). A carbon paste electrode (CPE) was modified with environmentally friendly sensing materials, graphitic carbon nitride and manganese oxide nanostructures (Mn3O4/g-C3N4). The modified CPE exhibited improved sensitivity due to the synergistic effect of Mn3O4 and g-C3N4. The sensor showed good selectivity, stability, and reproducibility with a rapid response time (< 20 s), and was successfully applied for the determination of SP in honey and milk, as well as STZ in water and milk samples, with acceptable recoveries.

The modification of a carbon paste electrode (CPE) with a nanocomposite of iron, lithium ions, and manganese based on nitro-doped carbon enhanced the limit of detection and identification of QTPF. The nanocomposites were characterized using SEM, XRD, and FTIR. The electrochemical behavior of the drug with the modified electrode was studied using cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and EIS. The sensor showed a linear range of 0.090-900 μM and a detection limit of 0.011 μM.

Highly sensitive and simultaneous electrochemical determinations of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in water using nanostructured carbon-based paste electrodes

Summary: The development of simultaneous detection methods for anti-inflammatory drugs in water is challenging but important for water quality control. In this study, fullerene-carbon nanofiber (FULL/CNF) and graphene-carbon nanotubes (GR/CNT) were used for the first time as sensing elements for simultaneous determination of diclofenac, naproxen, and ibuprofen. The FULL/CNE electrode showed good performance with DPV-based detection, while the GR/CNT electrode achieved low limits of detection with MPA-based methodology. Both electrodes demonstrated good reproducibility, stability, and the ability to measure the drugs simultaneously in water samples.

Multifunctional films of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/ZnFe2O4 nanofibers for nanogenerator applications

Ferroelectric and magnetic properties were analyzed using DC-EFM and MFM, respectively. Al 2 O 3 microparticles immobilized on glassy - carbon electrode as catalytic sites for the electrochemical oxidation and high detectability of naproxen: Experimental and simulation insights

Summary: This study demonstrated that immobilizing Al2O3 microparticles on a glassy carbon electrode can enhance the electrochemical oxidation of naproxen, resulting in a highly sensitive sensor. The Al2O3 microparticles act as adsorption sites that alter the electrochemical oxidation pathway of naproxen by facilitating electron transfer at the electrode surface. Molecular dynamics simulations indicated stronger interaction between naproxen and alumina sites compared to ibuprofen, explaining the enhanced electron transfer efficiency. Additionally, the alumina-modified electrode showed superior sensing characteristics for naproxen detection compared to electrodes modified with carbon nanotubes.
