Summary: Electropolymerized methylene blue on graphene oxide framework has been synthesized and characterized for voltammetric sensing of gallic acid. The prepared electrode exhibits reversible redox behavior and high sensitivity towards gallic acid oxidation. Real sample validation with commercial herbal tablet extracts suggests that the prepared sensor platform could be a potential analytical probe for herbaceutical testing.

Layer-by-layer assembly of calixarene modified GO and LDH nanostructures on flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and dye adsorption behavior of flexible polyurethane foams

Summary: This study investigated the effect of LbL coatings based on LDH-GO and LDH-GOSC4A on the fire properties and dye adsorption behavior of flexible polyurethane foam. The results showed that LDH-GOSC4A coatings exhibited better flame retardancy compared to LDH-GO coatings. The PUF/LDH-GOSC4A 9BL foam showed the best fire properties and had a significantly reduced adsorption capacity for MB.

Tailored calix[4]arene-gold nanoconjugate as a ultra-sensitive immunosensing nanolabel

Summary: We have developed a new colorimetric immunosensing nanolabel that offers high sensitivity for detecting biomolecules. The nanolabel is highly specific, easy to use, and quick, making it suitable for onsite detection. In experiments, the nanolabel achieved a recovery rate of around 90% with a relative error of around 2% when used to detect biomolecules in blood samples.

The second category discusses the supramolecular hydrogels of macrocycles/polymers and low molecular weight gelators. The updated information provided in this article could contribute to the advancement of research and development in this vital area.

Synthesis, molecular docking and antiproliferative activity of upper rim modified azo calix[4]arene derivatives

Summary: In this study, an exceptional electrocatalyst for selective and sensitive detection of Diphenhydramine (DPH) was developed using p-TNC4 as an effective capping and stabilizing agent to synthesize copper metal nanoparticles. The synthesized CuNPs were utilized as an electrochemical sensing probe for the detection of DPH, showing outstanding results with a low limit of detection and quantification. The modified sensor was successfully tested in real urine and serum samples, demonstrating its practical applications.

Ultrafast ionic and molecular sieving through graphene oxide based composite membranes

A new electrochemical method for the detection of quercetin in onion, honey and green tea using Co3O4 modified GCE

Summary: Quercetin, an active biological flavonoid, was detected using an electrochemical sensor with ionic liquid assisted Co3O4 nanostructures. The sensor showed high selectivity, sensitivity and stability in detecting Qu in standard solutions and real food samples. The Co3O4/GCE sensor exhibited excellent electrocatalytic capability, remarkable stability, super sensitivity and adequate selectivity for Qu detection.

Naringenin solubilizing and pH dependent releasing properties of water soluble p-sulphonatocalix[4]arene

Summary: This study investigated the solubilizing properties of p-sulphonatocalix[4]arene (p-SCX4) towards Naringenin (NAR) to improve its pharmacokinetic characteristics and bioavailability by forming an inclusion complex. The 1:1 stoichiometry between drug and p-SCX4 was confirmed, leading to a 10-fold increase in solubility. The maximum release of the drug complex was observed at pH=3.5 within 220 minutes.
