Temperature-modulated synthesis of vertically oriented atomic bilayer graphene nanowalls grown on stainless steel by inductively coupled plasma chemical vapour deposition

Enric Bertran-Serra et al.

Summary: It is possible to grow flat graphene nanostructures from gas phase on planar substrates. Vertical graphene nanowalls can achieve a large specific surface area and exhibit high vertical and in-plane electrical conductivity, suitable for electrochemical applications.

Insights into the inherent properties of vertical graphene flakes towards hydrogen evolution reaction

Stefanos Chaitoglou et al.

Summary: Currently, extensive research is being conducted to meet the demand for sustainable hydrogen production, with a focus on developing efficient and cost-effective materials. Graphene is seen as an ideal candidate due to its abundant nature and ability to form beneficial nanostructures. The study demonstrates the inherent electrocatalytic activity of graphene nanowalls (GNWs) towards hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).

Observation of D band splitting in vertically aligned graphene nanowalls and their evolution with laser power during Raman spectroscopy

Rajib Kar et al.

Summary: Splitting of D band was observed in vertically aligned graphene nanowalls for the first time during Raman spectroscopy analysis, with two distinct peaks D-1 and D-2. The intensity and full width at half maxima of D-2 decreased with increasing laser power, indicating a reduction in defects. Interestingly, the G band did not split with increasing laser power, showing the durability of the nanostructures.

The Effects Induced by Microwave Field upon Tungsten Wires of Different Diameters

Marian Mogildea et al.

Summary: Experimental investigation on the effects of microwave field on tungsten wires of different diameters revealed that the 0.5 mm wire was completely vaporized while the 1 mm wire was not ignited. Theoretical analysis showed that the voltage generated by metallic wires in interaction with microwaves depended on their electric resistance in AC and the power of the microwave field.
