We present a case of a laboratory-acquired Salmonella Typhi infection, resulting in hospitalization of a technician. The strain of S. Typhi isolated from blood and stool cultures was found to be identical to the strain the employee had recently worked with, confirmed through core-genome multilocus sequence typing. Despite working in a biosafety cabinet, the incident still occurred.
