Evening chronotype associates with increased triglyceride levels in young adults in two independent populations

Adriana Aguilar-Galarza et al.

Summary: In two independent populations of young adults from Europe and America, individuals with evening chronotypes have a higher cardiometabolic risk and lipid alterations compared to those with neither or morning chronotypes. Lifestyle factors such as smoking and alcohol consumption also differed among chronotypes.

Is late bedtime an overlooked sleep behaviour? Investigating associations between sleep timing, sleep duration and eating behaviours in adolescence and adulthood

Anna H. Grummon et al.

Summary: The study revealed that later bedtime was associated with shorter sleep duration and less healthy eating behaviors among adolescents, emerging adults, and young adults. A 1-hour delay in bedtime was linked to a decrease of 14-33 minutes of sleep per night. Later bedtime was also related to lower odds of consuming healthier foods and higher odds of consuming less healthy foods and beverages.
