Golgin A7 family member B (GOLGA7B) is a plausible novel gene associating high glycaemic index diet with acne vulgaris

Yee-How Say et al.

Summary: The study identified the signaling pathways between high glycemic index/glycemic load diet and acne vulgaris. By analyzing the genomic and transcriptomic data of acne cases and controls, several genes related to acne and dietary quality were discovered. Additionally, an intronic SNP in the GOLGA7B gene was found to be associated with acne. These findings provide a new model for the pathogenesis of acne related to high glycemic index/glycemic load diet.

An update on the prevalence, chronicity, and severity of atopic dermatitis and the associated epidemiological risk factors in the Singapore/Malaysia Chinese young adult population: A detailed description of the Singapore/Malaysia Cross-Sectional Genetics Epidemiology Study (SMCGES) cohort

Summary: Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a common skin condition influenced by multiple genes and environmental triggers. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiological status of AD among young adults in Singapore and Malaysia, evaluate associated risk factors, and describe the disease presentation and symptoms profile. The results showed that family history, personal history of allergies, and various lifestyle and environmental factors were significantly associated with AD occurrence, chronicity, and severity.
